Valley Health is a not-for-profit organization serving the healthcare needs of people in and around an area known as the Top of Virginia, as well as parts of West Virginia and Maryland.

The system's history goes back to Winchester Memorial Hospital which opened in 1903 with a mere 36 beds. Valley Health was incorporated in 1993 when Winchester Medical Center (WMC), in Winchester, and Warren Memorial Hospital (WMH), in Front Royal, partnered to serve the region. Headquartered in Winchester, Virginia, Valley Health now operates five hospitals: WMC; WMH; Shenandoah Memorial Hospital (SMH) in Woodstock, VA; Hampshire Memorial Hospital (HMH) in Romney, WV; and Page Memorial Hospital (PMH) in Luray, VA. While not a system affiliate, War Memorial Hospital, in Berkeley Springs, WV, has been managed by Valley Health since 1989.
